DB SCHENKER
achieves Cargo 2000 Platinum status
Highest
level of quality management in global air freight
Cargo 2000, the air cargo
industry quality standard, has announced that DB Schenker Logistics has reached
Platinum Membership, thus acknowledging its leading position in air freight and
its quality management. DB Schenker is so far one of two logistics providers and
five carriers in the world having reached this classification, according to an
official release.
Cargo 2000 brings together more
than 80 major airlines, forwarders and third parties in air freight and is a
self-funded non-profit industry group with the mission to create and implement
the quality standard and management system for the worldwide air cargo industry.
It is considered as the deepest and most far-reaching quality improvement
initiative in the history of air cargo.
Cargo 2000 Membership
Classification consists of four levels, from "Member" via
"Silver" and "Gold" to "Platinum". It is based on
a points system that objectively measures a company's integration of Cargo 2000
into its daily business processes.
"We are proud that we have
reached this classification," said Mr Thomas Mack, Senior Vice-President
and Head of Global Air Freight at Schenker AG. "And this is more than only
a good news for our customers, as it shows how seriously we take increasing the
quality of air cargo processes internally and externally. Cargo 2000 is one of
our daily internal measurement tools in place to facilitate, enhance and
maintain our high quality standards."
