New CMD assumes charge of Goa Shipyard

Rear Admiral Vineet Bakshi (Retd) has taken charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Goa Shipyard Ltd.

An alumni of the Scindia School, Gwalior, National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, and an M-Tech from IIT, Delhi, he has served the Navy for 36 years in various capacities, both onshore and at sea. He has served onboard INS Kirpan, INS Guldar, INS Trishul and INS Vikrant.

He has held various posts, such as in the manufacture of equipment for ships, repairs and maintenance, logistics, trials and acceptance of new ships and also as the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji, Lonavala.

As a Flag Officer, he was the Director-General of Naval Project at Mumbai. He has also been on deputations to Australia and the UK in connection with setting up of training facilities and logistics support of ships.
