APM Terminals Pipavav appoints  Amit Bhardwaj as Chief Commercial Officer

To establish APM Terminals Pipavav (Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd - GPPL) as the preferred gateway port, it is focusing on sustainable growth in container volumes, enhancing non-container (liquid, bulk & RoRo) abilities, developing rail products, integrating MMLP into the port ecosystem and establishing a wider geographical footprint. With the completion of building a new liquid cargo berth, the current capacity of liquid bulk will enhance from 2 MMT to 5.2 MMT. 
 
With overall growth in port volumes, Mr Amit Bhardwaj, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), APM Terminals India, will now focus on developing and executing customer-centric commercial strategy at GPPL as Chief Commercial Officer of GPPL effective June 1, 2023. With his strong business acumen and experience in container shipping, agencies, landside products, and ports & terminals, he will focus more on GPPL’s commercial business and spearhead the port into the next phase of growth.  
 
Amit is a MISE of 1997 batch and has worked across various roles in Maersk and APM Terminals. After ten years in Maersk Line as Trade Manager in Mumbai, Cluster Manager in Kolkata, he moved to Inchcape Indonesia as Country General Manager for seven years. In his second stint from September 2014 in the Maersk Group, he joined as Business Unit Head for the then APM Terminals Inland Services, after which he led the Commercial Function in APM Terminals Mumbai for four years, said a release.
