Ruling on tax applicable to logistics income

The Chennai Bench of the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) has ruled that logistics income earned from the mark-up on ocean freight amounts to trading profit and is not liable to service tax, as per a report.
