Indothai replaces Çelebi at Mumbai Airport for ground handling ops

Indothai (IndoThai Airport Management Services Pvt. Ltd) has been temporarily given the charge of ground handling operations at the Mumbai International Airport (owned by  the Adani Group), after the Centre revoked security clearance access of Turkey-based Çelebi. Presently, Indothai handles operations at airports in Kolkata, Guwahati, Jaipur, Calicut, Bhubaneswar, Gaya, Varanasi, Amritsar and Pune. Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said Indothai has been appointed as the interim ground handling provider at the airport for the next three months with immediate effect, adding that a joint meeting with airlines had been conducted to ensure a seamless transition. To avoid disruption, MIAL said that the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai (CSMIA) will facilitate the transfer of all existing employees of Çelebi NAS at CSMIA to Indothai on their existing terms and conditions of employment, thus ensuring no loss of employment and continued service delivery to airline partners.

In the meantime, Çelebi Airport Services India Pvt. Ltd has approached the Delhi High Court challenging the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’s (BCAS) decision to revoke its security clearance on national security grounds, as per a report.
