No tariff on exports of low-grade iron ore
The government is unlikely to impose any tariff on exports of low-grade iron ore as of now, it is learnt. The Ministry of Steel was considering an export tax on iron ore after India’s small and secondary steel producers petitioned the government to curb rising exports. However, after examining the issue, the Ministry did not find any evidence to suggest that rising iron ore exports have hit the country’s steel producers.
